I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

I'd like this one with a big, ornate, but neutral frame!

This image is so perfect in black and white, it's as if you designed it yourself in miniature, and then magnified it! This photograph reminds me once again how monochrome images elicit such a deep sense of awe and accentuates the fine details in life that we normally must set aside in order to focus on human survival. Congratulations on your fine art work being featured in multiple Fine Art America groups, including "Black and White - the Art Form"!

Beautiful image. If I look at it abstractly, it reminds me of the head of a guitar with tuning pegs. The contrasts and luminescence are simply devine.
