Description
This wide angle panoramic image was taken on the Frank Island sandspit at Chesterman Beach near Tofino, British Columbia, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It was low tide around noon in April 2016. The view is to the north on this stellar day with wispy clouds are above the receding tide. This image has been digitally enhanced to depict an antique finish process.

A beautiful, windswept sky. Love the tones in this lovely panorama. l/fv/g+

Beautiful hues in this antique finish process! It's amazing how far out the tide goes! It almost resembles a desert except for the few puddles that are gathered in the sand pockets here and there! The whispy clouds certainly add a lot of cheer to the entire image!
Allan Van Gasbeck replied:
Actually Mary Ann, Frank Island is to the left of the frame. The island is inaccessible at high tide most days. The "beach" that you see is part of a spit, only exposed as the tide recedes around either side of the island. As the tide comes in either side, an interesting chop is created by the opposing forces of incoming waves.
