Artist's Description
This black and white photograph was captured in Pacific Rim National Park in April 2022. The view is west and north of Quisitis Point and the beach at low tide on Florencia Bay. This is a very popular surfing spot along with numerous seals that come in and go out with the tide. A short hike and several dozen stairs takes you to the beach from the parking area.

About Allan Van Gasbeck
I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
