This long exposure black and white photograph was captured in April 2016 along the Lighthouse portion of the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet, British Columbia on Vancouver Island. On the left hand side is the entrance to Ucluelet Harbor. Barkley Sound and the Broken Islands Group of the Pacific Rim National Park Lie in the background and just beyond is Bamfield. It was a relatively calm day and yet the swells and surf were very expressive.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
