Description
These cherry trees are now nearly bare, long after the harvesting in July. The image was captured in early November 2014 in the hills and orchards east of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. The Okanagan valley is one of the largest fruit producing areas in the country. The apple and cherry trees lose their leaves over a several week period at different stages. Some apple trees hang on to their leaves well past the initial frost days. Some leaves are heavy, and some are very thin allowing the low late fall sun to illuminate and backlight them.
