Artist's Description
This abstract image was captured in January 2016 inside the Pantheon in Rome near Piazza Navona. The circular building is one of the most interesting inside of all the remaining ancient Roman buildings. The Oculus, a round opening in the center of the dome, shines a daylight reflection which moves around the dome as time passes during the day. This image has been digitally enhanced.
Featured in the FAA group Pleasing The Eye.

About Allan Van Gasbeck

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
