This image was captured in the evening in mid-January 2021 in Parksville on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The view is to the northeast, with the Sunshine Coast on the horizon and the Ballenas Islands close at hand. Sechelt would be found approximately in the center of the image on the distant Sunshine Coast. The setting sun, which would actually have been opposite this image, has given the colorful reflections off the clouds and mountains.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
