About Allan Van Gasbeck
I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...

I love this capture of natural beauty, Allan; the flock of sandpipers an added element of interest. A strong feeling here of space & freedom. Years since a visit to this area; you've sparked a desire to go back .... soon!;))

Cool Shot Allan!
Mr Bennett Kent
There are so many elements to this fascinating shot! The shadows of the flock, the beautifully frozen in time birds, the lines of breaking waves, the outline of the pine on the headline and finally the rain on the horizon. A perfectly captured moment
