I love the feeling of infinite space in this image, Allan.

Artist's Description

This black and white photograph was captured in Pacific Rim National Park in April of 2022 on Combers Beach. Localized squalls with sunny breaks were moving through the area. A low outgoing tide provided the reflections for the dramatic sky pictured here.

Featured in the FAA group Hodge Podge. October 2022.

About Allan Van Gasbeck

Allan Van Gasbeck

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
