Description

This image was captured in mid-January 2021 in Parksville on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This depiction of geese in flight (a skein) shows Black Brandt geese approaching a landing at a feeding site through a rarely seen snowy landscape. In January, February, March, and April this section of the east coast of Vancouver Island is a major stopover on their migration northward to the arctic tundra.
