This black and white image was captured on South Beach near the Kwisitis Center on Wickinninish Beach in Pacific Rim National Park on a crystal clear morning in April 2022. This beautiful park is located on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The beach and trails extend for miles. This beach is also known as Singing Stones Beach as the retreat of the tide moves the rocks large and small to their tumbling sounds.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...

A beautiful image, Allan. So calming.

Beautiful, contrasting layers and tonal values. Love the alternative name of the beach! F
