This black and white photograph was captured early morning in January 2017 at Gellatly Nut Farm in West Kelowna, British Columbia after a snowfall. This homestead was settled in the late 1800s and is preserved as an area historical site. One can imagine that once the wheel became of no practical use, it was leaned against the back of the cabin and left there, where it still sits today.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
