Gorgeous duck.

Artist's Description

This colorful image of a male Wood Duck was captured at Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia in February 2017. The image and mirror reflection shows the wonderful design that gives the duck so much character. Generally speaking they are skiddish around humans and difficult to get close to.

About Allan Van Gasbeck

Allan Van Gasbeck

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
