Description
Wildfires have been burning in British Columbia since early June. On nearly a daily basis, there is smoke in the atmosphere making it difficult for many to breathe. This panoramic image was captured in August 2017 on the eastern shore of Lake Okanagan near Okanagan Centre at Kopje Regional Park. The view is to the south towards Kelowna and shows the smoke lying in the valley. The pilings are remnants from an old ferry dock which before vehicles was the main transportation in the valley. This was a stop for the stern wheeler Fintry Queen among others.
