This image was captured in Grasslands National Park, Saskatchewan in late September 2017. These are the banks of the Frenchman River which meanders through the park and is often seen on hikes and forays into the grasslands. This meager river has sustained life in the grasslands for millenia. In the riparian zone surrounding the river, plant life finds enrichment to thrive where any where else is far to inhospitable to support anything more than the multiple varieties of grasses.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
