Artist's Description

This black and white image was captured in January 2019 near the mouth of the Bill Williams River and in the Bill Williams National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge begins at the southeastern end of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and is home to many species of both unique and common animals, birds, and plants. The Bill Williams Bridge which is US 95 can be seen in the distance.

Featured in the FAA group The Gray Scale Outdoors. June 2019.

Allan Van Gasbeck

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
