Artist's Description
This photograph was captured in January 2016, in Venice, Italy. It was digitally processed to create a colored pencil drawing. Early in the morning, empty gondolas seem moored nearly everywhere there is a spot while the tourists get revved up to go for a ride. The skill of the gondoliers is quite remarkable, watching them manouever down narrow and crooked canals.

About Allan Van Gasbeck
I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...

Nicely done, I love the colored pencil effect! I like how the water is still soft looking even with the colored pencil lines. l/f
