Fantastic image!

Artist's Description

This image was captured as the sun was setting in April 2015 in Olympic National Park. This beach is on the extreme west coast of the continental USA at the Kalaloch Campground. At low tide, with the sun sinking low, shellfish are caught in the tidal flats, awaiting a fresh soak. The horizon is shadowed by an incoming mist showing a faded sea that seems to stretch forever. This image has been digitally enhanced.

About Allan Van Gasbeck

Allan Van Gasbeck

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
