Artist's Description
This digitally enhanced wide angle panoramic image was taken on the Frank Island sandspit off Chesterman Beach near Tofino, British Columbia, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It was low tide around noon in April 2016. The view is to the north on this stellar day. A lone cyclist pedals along without a care in the world.

About Allan Van Gasbeck
I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...

Fabulous blue and grey hues throughout this wondrous panaramic image, Allan! Wonderful mountains and forests, and the bicycle rider is a real bonus! The playful whispy clouds and their reflection also bring extra energy to this fine image.
