This gray scale image was captured in Grasslands National Park, Saskatchewan in late September 2017. The sky was incredible on this day, changing by the minute, but with very interesting transformations. The lack of signs and the ability to wander where one will is refreshing here. Trails are created by simply mowing the grass. Frequent wildfires are fine for the grasses which regenerate rather quickly, however, finding a live tree or any tree for that matter is a challenge in the grasslands.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
