Description
This is a Venice Italy golden hour photograph of the onset of evening behind Isola San Giorgio Maggiore across the water from San Marco and near the mouth of the Grand Canal. The boat is a vaporetto, the main trainsportation on canals and across the lagoons. The image was captured in January of 2016. San Giorgio Maggiore was a former monastery established in 982. In the early 19th century, the island became a port and harbor.
