This image was captured in late December 2019 at the Zabriskie Point area just east of the actual Death Valley in the National Park in early morning sun. Zabriskie Point refers to the surrounding area as well as the prominent feature pictured here. The creases and folds which are well defined by the shadows and light were created over millions of years through erosion and the redepositing of the sediments into these formations which at one time were at the bottom of a lake.

I was born and raised in New England and met my Canadian wife of nearly 50 years now while traveling in Europe in '73. I have mostly lived in Canada since. I have been interested in photography since 1970 and had taken multitudes of pictures in the "film" age. After a time away from photography, I jumped in again in the early years of the "digital" age. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. Since, I spent a couple of years as a part time professional photographer, though I am moving away from working to return to my roots in outdoor photography as a life interest. I enjoy taking landscape, moving water, and nature images - and any other passing fancy moment that deserves to last. I love quiet wild spaces...
