Description
This image of harlequin ducks was captured in January 2024 in the municipality of Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The location is Beachcomber Regional Park which lies on the South shore of Northwest Bay. Seals, sea lions, an occasional whale, and numerous species of shore birds, ducks, and a smattering of geese can be found in the waters surrounding an uncluttered Beachcomber park. These beautiful and intricately designed ducks are very sketchy around humans always seeming wary of the natural dangers about them.
