Description
This image was taken in early November 2014 in the hills and orchards east of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. The Okanagan valley is one of the largest fruit producing areas in the country. At this time of the season, most of the fruit has either been picked, fallen off, or left to wilt on the stem. The apple and cherry trees lose their leaves over a several week period at different stages. Some apple trees hang on to their leaves well past the initial frost days. Some leaves are heavy, and some are very thin allowing the low late fall sun to illuminate and backlight them.

Wonderful autumn colors! Old orchards offer so many photographic opportunities for sure.

Tilting down and focusing on the ground cover Really leads the eye in to a beautiful perspective.
